1) About this Policy

1.1 This Cookies Policy explains how Capsure Supplements Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on capsure.uk (the “Website”).

1.2 It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. Where cookies collect personal data, the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply. For storing and accessing cookies and similar technologies, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) also apply.

1.3 We want to be transparent about what we collect and why, so that you can make informed choices about your devices and your data.

2) What are cookies and similar technologies?

2.1 Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They can be:

Session cookies – deleted when you close your browser.
Persistent cookies – remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.

2.2 We may also use:

tags and pixels (e.g. Google Tag Manager tags, Microsoft Advertising tag)
local storage and similar technologies
device identifiers

For simplicity, we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this Policy.

3) How we classify cookies

We use the same categories as in our CookieYes consent banner:

Necessary (strictly necessary): required for the basic operation of the site (e.g. basket, checkout, security, cookie consent). These do not require consent.
Analytics: help us understand how visitors use the Website (e.g. page views, traffic sources) so we can improve performance and content. Consent is required.
Advertisement: used to measure and optimise our online advertising campaigns on platforms such as Google and Microsoft/Bing. Consent is required.

We may in future also use Functional cookies (for example to remember preferences such as language or region). If we do, they will appear in your cookie preferences panel and will also require consent.

4.1 For necessary cookies, our lawful basis is legitimate interests and/or performance of a contract (for example, enabling the cart and checkout, providing secure log-in, and remembering your cookie choices).

4.2 For analytics and advertisement cookies we rely on your consent, which you give (or refuse) through our cookie banner and the “Customise Consent Preferences” panel.

4.3 You can withdraw or change your consent at any time (see Section 7).

5) Cookies we use (examples)

5.1 The exact cookies used on the Website may change over time (for example if we change providers or add new features). The most up-to-date list, including cookie name, provider, purpose and duration, is always available in the “Customise Consent Preferences” panel powered by CookieYes (link in the footer).

5.2 Below we give examples of the main cookies currently in use.

These cookies are needed for the Website to function properly. They do not store information that directly identifies you, beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

Consent management

cookieyes-consent (CookieYes) – remembers your cookie preferences (which categories you accepted or rejected) so we do not ask you every time you visit. Typical duration: up to 1 year.

WooCommerce cart and checkout (WordPress)

woocommerce_items_in_cart – remembers whether there are items in your cart (session).
woocommerce_cart_hash – helps WooCommerce detect when cart contents change (session).
wp_woocommerce_session_* – assigns a unique code to your cart so that we can find your cart data in our database (around 2 days).

These cookies are essential for you to place orders on capsure.uk.

Stripe payment cookies

m – used by Stripe for fraud prevention and to identify the device used to access the website (around 1 year 1 month 4 days).
__stripe_mid – sets a unique ID for the user to recognise them across sessions for fraud prevention and payment operations (up to 1 year).
__stripe_sid – sets a unique ID for a single session for fraud prevention and payment operations (around 1 hour).

These cookies are required to operate secure online payments through Stripe.

These cookies are used only if you accept Analytics cookies in the banner. They help us understand how visitors find and use the Website so that we can improve content and user experience.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

Implemented via Google Tag Manager.

_ga*_ – stores anonymised information about how the Website is used and helps associate events with a specific GA4 property. Similar duration.
_ga – used to distinguish unique visitors and calculate visitor, session and campaign data. Typical duration: around 1 year 1 month 4 days.

We configure GA4 so that data is aggregated and pseudonymised as far as reasonably possible. GA4 is only loaded when you consent to Analytics cookies.

These cookies are used only if you accept Advertisement cookies in the banner. They help us measure and improve the effectiveness of our marketing and, where applicable, show more relevant ads. They may also be used by our advertising partners to prevent the same ad being shown repeatedly.

Google Ads / Google Merchant Centre / Google Tag Manager

_gcl_au – used by Google Tag Manager/Google Ads to store and track conversions from ads (approx. 3 months).

Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads – Universal Event Tracking)

MUID – set by Microsoft to recognise unique browsers visiting Microsoft sites and websites using Microsoft services; used for advertising, site analytics and other operations (approx. 1 year 24 days).
_uetsid – a session ID cookie used by Microsoft/Bing Ads to store and track visits on the Website (approx. 1 day).
_uetvid – a visitor ID cookie used by Microsoft/Bing Ads to store and track visits on the Website and measure conversions over a longer period (approx. 1 year 24 days).

DoubleClick / Google Marketing Platform

test_cookie – set by doubleclick.net to test whether the user’s browser supports cookies (around 15 minutes).

These cookies help us understand which Google and Microsoft/Bing ads and campaigns lead to visits and purchases on capsure.uk.

6) Third parties, tags & international transfers

6.1 We use a tag management system, Google Tag Manager, to deploy and manage measurement and advertising tags on the Website. Tag Manager itself normally does not set its own cookies, but it loads the scripts for:

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
Google Ads / Google Merchant Centre conversion tags
Microsoft Advertising/Bing Ads Universal Event Tracking (UET)

6.2 We also use third-party providers such as:

CookieYes (cookie-consent and preference management)
Stripe (payments)
Google and Microsoft/Bing (analytics and advertising)

When these third-party tools run, they may collect information from your browser or device (such as IP address, device type, browser type, approximate location, and events such as page views or purchases).

6.3 Where these providers process personal data outside the UK (for example on servers in the European Economic Area or the United States), we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as:

use of standard contractual clauses, IDTA / UK Addendum, or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms; and
provider commitments regarding security and privacy.

6.4 For more information about how third-party providers process your data, please refer to their own privacy and cookies policies (for example, Google, Microsoft and Stripe).

7) Managing your preferences

7.1 Cookie banner / preferences panel: On your first visit, you will see a banner allowing you to accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise your choices by category. You can change your choices at any time via the “Cookie Settings” / “Customise Consent Preferences” link in the Website footer.

7.2 Withdraw consent: If you previously accepted Analytics or Advertisement cookies, you can withdraw your consent at any time by turning those categories off in the preferences panel. This will prevent new cookies of that type being set.

7.3 Browser controls: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings (often found under “Privacy” or “Security”). Please note that blocking necessary cookies may prevent the Website, including the shopping basket and checkout, from working properly.

7.4 Do Not Track signals: Our Website does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals. Please use the cookie banner and your browser settings to control tracking technologies.

8) Retention

8.1 Cookie lifespans vary by purpose and provider. Approximate durations are listed in Section 5 and in your cookie preferences panel.

8.2 Where cookies involve personal data, we keep that data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this Policy and our Privacy Policy (for example, to maintain accurate order records, manage our advertising, or comply with legal obligations).

9) Children

9.1 Our Website and services are not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly use cookies to profile or target advertising at children.

10.1 We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time (for example, if we add new services, change providers or if the law changes). We will publish the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
